April 2nd, 2008 at 2:34 am
Yea Harris good joke.
What is even more of a joke is how most people can afford $2k to buy a product that is supposedly going to teach them how to make money.
I just wish there was someone who really could teach you from the start how to do it and teach them the easy way and not the way you big people talk and work. Remember back when you knew nothing, well how about someone getting back to basics like that for us newbies.
April 2nd, 2008 at 3:04 am
Jack,
It’s not the money that separates a newbie from a success story. It *action*.
I have a bunch of products that I’ve created that I truly believe will make people money if they apply the teachings.
o Site Swiper - $37
o Codename Catalyst - $197
o Affiliate Marketing Intensive - free
” ” Starter Kit $37
Instant ” ” Mastery - $77
o Listbuidling, ViralMarketing, Copywriting, etc
(Versions of the same thing as above)
The most expensive package i sold of my own, was Expert by Association - for $3000. It was a 12 weeks course on getting started from scratch. There were 13 people in the class; I know that at least 5 of them made good money because of that course - 2 made 10’s of thousands - the other 8, I’m not sure about - I’ve lost touch. Maybe they applied stuff, maybe they didn’t.
I also know tons of people that made money with the information from the $37, $77, and $197 products I’ve sold. And tons more that haven’t.
The difference from where I sit?
Action.
There’s actually plenty of free stuff out there and plenty of stuff like you’ve requested for the newbie to get started.
There’s a book that I’d like to recommend to you called “Made to Stick”. One of the things it talks about is that once experts get to a certain point, they’re actually unable to communicate to people just getting started in whatever it is.
They call it the “curse of knowledge”. Many people that are already successful don’t understand why a ‘newbie’ can’t *get* what he’s teaching.
I think it’s the job of a *good* expert .. and in our market a “big guy” like you called us … to create products that *do* talk to newbies and experienced people alike.
Many many many products hit the mark. Some may fall short.
But in my estimation, Jack — it’s definitely not about the price of the product. It’s about the newbies *desire* and *implementation*.
Desire to succeed
Implementation of a plan
That still adds up to one thing: Action.
Here’s the cycle:
Take Action
Get Results
If Result is good
Do more of said action
If Result is not good
Learn from it, and do a new action
Take action (either new or more of same depending on yes/no)
I know you’re frustrated — but this is the secret to everyone I know’s success.
Keep Having Fun,
Harris
April 2nd, 2008 at 3:09 am
@Jack
I’ll sell this advice to you for 2 bucks.
EVERYTHING in business boils down to 2 things…
1) Present a Good Offer (learn how to write one for your or someone else’s product)
and……..drumroll………
2) Traffic (buying it is fast, learn to build it yourself — costs time…time is money so in the end it’s just how you like to do things…front load or back load…your call)
Everything other than 1) and 2) is just details. Don’t get stuck on it. If you’re not taking action every day on putting up 1) and 2) then shame on you. Go blow another 2k to remind you of 1 and 2…simple as that home skillet.
Serrrriously.

This is so so true
“One of the things it talks about is that once experts get to a certain point, they’re actually unable to communicate to people just getting started in whatever it is.
They call it the “curse of knowledge”. Many people that are already successful don’t understand why a ‘newbie’ can’t *get* what he’s teaching.”
That is where we as newbies cant work things out because of those experts and their “curse”
Thanks and I will hunt down the Made To Stick book and have a read.
One other thing is, where are these other product of yours you mentioned.
And thanks
April 2nd, 2008 at 9:03 am
