Live Video Interviews??

I’ve been wanting to do live video interviews for a long time now. The closest I got, a couple years ago, I did two different *recorded video interviews* with Shawn Casey and Joel Comm. They turned out to be some of the highest converting interviews I ever did. (In the Joel Comm interview, that’s where I did the ‘Adsense Pirate’ character you see above.)

It was a major pain in the ass 2 years ago. (and this was just *recorded interviews*) Todd Gross helped me orchestrate and record the streams as a 3rd party. And then he edited all the streams together. Like I said - a major pain.

I also did a product called Web Traffic Videos right after the above interviews. I used Camtasia to record a skype video conversation and it worked *ok*. Skype didn’t like recording the camera for more than a few minutes at a time - it got choppier and choppier. I’m still concerned this will happen.

Anyway, so, today we set out to test all the top live streaming video services to see which (if any) could handle my long sought desire to do live streaming video interviews. I checked out Ustream, Justin.tv, Stickam, Mogulus, BlogTV, and PalTalk. (PalTalk sponsored that viral ‘your name is running for president’ campaign last month - so, I figured I’d throw them in there.)

Here’s the video review that I did of all 6 sites.

Video Services Review - Broadcast your self LIVE

Remember now, I was looking for the best service for *one particular function* and that was to do Live Streaming Video Interviews. The above video is recorded using BlogTV. It shows a side by side stream of my co-host; but when the show was live it was picture in picture.

Sadly, the technology is still not quite there yet. However, I still may do some live interviews with BlogTV. My only other alternative is to use Skype Video Chat and record it with Camtasia. (My recent test seemed better than the past — and I’m really close to just biting the bullet and getting a Mac b/c everything like this I see from a Mac is phenomenal!)

Alright, that’s it for now. Please let me know what you think of this review and feel free to let me know if there’s any other sites we missed.

Wow! Robert Scoble Really Gets Marketing

I really haven’t been following Robert Scoble for very long.

Last week I started following all of the top 25 Twitterers found on Twitterholic.

It took a post from Jason Calacanis to even get me to Scoble’s blog today.

On his blog, Scoble basically said that most of the websites showcasing at DEMO 2008 pretty much suck. (DEMO 2008 is a show for startup web companies.) Anyone even remotely interested in marketing on the web needs to read this post right now.

Startups Your Web Site Sucks

Once you’re done, click on to the next post that says “Scoble Sucks“, too. I want you to see the kind of heat Robert Scoble got for speaking his mind. And most importantly — I want you to see how he handles the heat. This is a really great example about how to properly keep the conversation going.

Anyway, alot of the ’startup community’ is pissed at him for saying those sites sucked - some even saying things along the lines of “I thought you were our guy” or “I thought you had our back” or whatever.

Man, the ‘Scoble Haters’ are totally missing the freaking point!

From where I sit — Robert Scoble just did those Startups a huge freaking favor. He pretty much gave them harsh hyper-critical advice that’s probably worth hundreds of thousands of dollars to them if they quickly put it into action. Hell, you can’t even buy this type of criticism.

Alright. Go read those two posts now and when you’re done reading the two Scoble posts, I’d really love to hear what you think. Let me know your thoughts on this.

Why I’ve Never Promoted Stomper Products

(This is going out in email tomorrow - but I figured I’d put it up on the blog first)

I spent hours creating a video about this - but the video’s crap - so I’ll just come out and say it right here. And, it’s probably not what you think.

So I wanted to tell you why I’ve never promoted stompernet products…
(And its not at all because of their current launch delays - not at all.)

———-
REASON #1
———-
First and foremost, I’m not all that into Search Engine Optimization (SEO). I’m realistic in the fact that even thought it doesn’t cost any money on a per-click basis, there *is a cost*.

That cost is time.

Admittedly, StomperNet teaches you how to cut that time down into a fraction of what it would normally be with top-page results.

———-
REASON #2
———-
Honestly, I’ve felt personally threatened by them (in a business sense). When they first came out,
I felt like “these guys are trying to take over the industry!!”

And I’d be right to think that, too…

The truth of the matter is they’ve built an incredible business around helping their clients (stompers)
totally demolish the competition.

With that, comes their own domination of this market.

Plus, like the “Borg”, they’re bringing all of the tip-top-notch experts on board in every field.
(Not just SEO anymore, either.)

It’s an amazing organization they’ve built - with entrepreneurs on board and employees alike.

When I first saw this coming, I was a bit uneasy - but now, some of my very good friends are on board - and only *great* things have ever been said. (Even behind closed doors.)

———-
REASON #3
———-
Thier stuff has always been on the more expensive side of the fence. Now, I have no problem whatsoever promoting great info that’s in the higher price brackets….

But everytime I’ve had the decision below to make, price was a weighing stone:

“Should I promote Stomper’s product or this other product”

————–
SO, NOW WHAT?
————–
Well, now … today, I *am* promoting thier latest product because, and I’m serious here,…

I WOULD BE DOING *YOU* A DISSERVICE IF I DIDN’T

They sent me a preview copy of “Stomping the Search Engines 2″ and the accompanying top-quality magazine.

( I had this in the video I was preparing - but you can learn about it here: http://harrisfellman.com/stomper2 )

———————–
OVERCOMING MY REASONS
———————–
This time around, they’ve not only overcome all of my reasons for not promoting them in the past, but like I said, I would actually feel *wrong* if I didn’t tell you about it.

I think doing a bonus for this much value is ridiculous. So, I’m not going to do that.

The bottom line is this:

1) There’s no charge other than the shipping & handling to get the magazine & DVD.

2) You get Stomping the Search Engines 2 on video - which is new & completely updated info.

3) The magazine is bursting with great information about SEO, new media, email marketing, and just about every part of internet marketing around.

More info here:

——————-
A WARNING (SORTA)
——————-

They say this on the page, but I want to make sure *I* have told you as well…

When you put your order in, you’ll also be signed up to get the monthly magazine for $39.99 and whatever else comes with your membership.

And here’s what I think…

If there’s *one* monthly magazine or newsletter that you should belong to, it’s Stompers.

-> http://harrisfellman.com/stomper2

Why?

Because it’s not just one or two guys atop their perch teaching you about SEO or IM.

It’s nearly *two dozen* of the most intelligent & successful experts on every topic imaginable.

The monthly club is really a no-brainer - get your hands on the course material though to see for yourself.

And most of all,
Keep Having Fun,

The Weekly Buzz

PS Stomper had a little opening-door jitters because they *really* were caught off guard by how much interest there would be in this offer.

Think about it for a minute.

They’re used to selling high-ticket.

That gets a lot less hits than “FREE”.
